Originating from caving, mountaineering and climbing, Rope Access techniques have been adapted and developed and are now commonplace in most industries. IRISNDT has built a wealth of experience and expertise in its rope access division over the past years.
Combining rope access and Non destructive testing has enabled our company to provide some of the most efficient and advanced methods of inspection around today. Using modern day rope access techniques and trained personnel eliminates the time restrictions and limitations of conventional access methods such as scaffolding. In turn reducing costs and increasing productivity for our clients.
Long range ultrasonic’s, TOFD, Phased Array, MPI, and DPI can all be carried out via rope access by our highly trained NDT/Rope access technicians. Using these methods is enormously productive for gathering data, whether its inspecting pipes for corrosion or the integrity of a structure, the results can be gathered quickly with minimal disruption to production, and best of all without the expense of scaffolding. As well as the NDT inspection we can also offer a number of other Rope Access services to the oil, gas and power sectors. Including;
- Building maintenance, cable running and inspection work
- Safety jobs, hazard removal and a range of industrial cleaning tasks
- Insulation repairs
- Boiler de- slagging, cleaning and inspection
- Wind turbine inspection and cleaning.
Many of these services can be highly beneficial to our clients. Not only because they reduce the dependency for scaffold but also because our quick response can reduce down time and increase productivity. A typical example in the industrial environment is fallen insulation or dangerous objects overhead stopping a job for safety reasons. These situations can be approached safely from above using rope access and removed, in turn returning production back to normal.
