BS EN ISO 5173
BS EN ISO 7438
ASTM E290
ASME IX

Tests are normally performed on butt welded joints. Either Root and Face bends or Side bends are commonly used, depending upon material thickness.Test specimens are taken transverse to the weld axis, reinforcement is removed to make the specimens flat. Each specimen is placed in the jig and bent 180º over a former, the size of the former is dependant upon the material group.
