EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES USA

IRISNDT is always on the lookout for quality people with training and/or experience in materials engineering and/or nondestructive testing. We employ individuals with education and/or training in a wide-range of positions.

Our Engineering and Specialty Services Department has opportunities for:

  • MATERIALS ENGINEERS: Professional engineers, with 3 or more years practical experience in materials engineering.

  • ENGINEERS-IN-TRAINING (EIT's): recent graduates from a university program looking to get into the field of materials engineering.

  • MATERIALS TECHNOLOGISTS: graduates of a technical school or college program, especially those with experience/proficiency in Replication (In-Situ metallography) and/or Material Verification (Field Chemical Analysis).

  • VISUAL INSPECTORS: certified to API 510, 570 and/or 653.

  • CORROSION INSPECTION TECHNICIANS: technicians with experience performing corrosion surveys in refineries and/or plant sites.

  • ADVANCED ULTRASONIC TECHNICIANS: experienced in Automated UT and/or Phased Array UT inspections.

There are opportunities available in Nondestructive Testing for:

  • SENIOR NDT TECHNICIANS: Level II Radiography, Ultrasonics and/or Eddy Current technicians, usually qualified to perform Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant inspections.

  • INTERMEDIATE NDT TECHNICIANS: Technicians certified to perform as Level II Magnetic Particle or Liquid Penetrant technicians, or, occasionally, Level I Ultrasonic, Radiography or Eddy Current technicians; Technicians with experience in Hardness Testing, Material Verification (X-Ray Fluorescence), and similar testing methods may also be required.

  • CERTIFIED RADIOGRAPHERS (CR's): The basic requirement for entry-level positions: Texas or Oklahoma (or other agreement state) card, or an ASNT Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety Personnel certification (IRRSP; contact the ASNT for details). The CR certificate is a legal requirement for any persons performing radiography. CR's are an integral part of IRISNDT's workforce, as they gain the experience necessary for advancement.

  • TRAINEES: Persons interested in a career in the nondestructive testing industry, but without any experience or training. There are few opportunities at this level; most entry-level opportunities occur for those individuals holding CR certification (see above).
