FEDS (Fugitive Emission Detection System)

IRISNDT uses Infra Red Technology to detect leaks in pressure systems containing gases found at client sites. The gases detected include methane, propane, butane and most other carbon based gases found in the petroleum industry.

Infrared cameras used by IRISNDT are a safe, fast, accurate method of gas detection aimed at helping clients comply with the EUB Directive 60 requirements. The legislation requires owners and operators to have a plan in place to detect and be able to repair leaks in their production systems. The IRISNDT FEDS (Fugitive Emission Detection System) accomplishes this in a reliable, repeatable way. The system allows the operator or owner to demonstrate 3rd party review of their plants and provides auditable records for owners when they are in discussions with EUB representatives.

Clients use the FED System to detect leaks in emergency situations, leaks prior to turn arounds, leaks on large piping systems and leaks on plant machinery under pressure. This system allows for online inspection to avoid unplanned and costly down time that may be required by other detection systems.
